EMS United

On Wed December 24th 2008 at 0623 hours, I responded to a report of a 5 month old not breathing. On arrival Fire department met us at the curb side with a apneic pulseless 5 month old cpr in progress. Fire department reports down time of 7-10 minutes. We were approx 1 miles from the closest hospital so we loaded and ran with on scene time of 30 seconds. Needless to say not much done prehospital, at the hospital in under 2 minutes. In ER IV established, Tube in place, and meds on board. We managed to get a pulse back in the 140 range with no respiration attempts by the child. So that was the call, sorry I am unable to go into more details but dont want to break any hippa rules. So on this Christmas eve and Christmas day I ask everyone that reads this to pray for this precious life and all the other precious lives that have perished or hang in the balance.
