Hi Jason, I love working up North. The response time ar longer. Ususally 20-30 minutes. If we need to fly a pt. it takes the Hilo 20 mins. just to warm up and another 20-30 to get here but it usually works out. We are used to it. The Drs. at the hospitals here are still a little behind in some things and don't trust that we know what we are doing. How is it down there? We use the Fire Dept's here alot for drivers. They are MFR's and alot of them are EMT's so that helps to have the extra help especially with all the freeway's and ORV type stuff we get. It is never boring. Talk to you later..

Hi Jason, It's nice to see someone from my old stomping ground. I grew up in Garden City and 8 yrs ago moved to northern Mich. Do you still live in Westland? I still have alot of family/friends there and miss the area alot.

are we hiring, or is HealthLink hiring? We aren't that I know of...

By the eway, I must have missed you question about HL hiring full time. Sorry! Nope, we don't have any full time positions and I don't know of any opening up.

actually, we are not associated with the ER at all. We were all employees (well most of us) of Oakwood at some point, but when the Transport Team developed, we became a separate entity. The only association we have with HealthLink is they own a small part of our rig and they help out with some of our supplies. Other than that, we claim no association with them. We are a team of 1 CCRN, 1 CCEMTP and 1 EMT. From the perspective of learning - it has been GREAT!!!

Yeah I don't want to "be a nure" per say myself... just want something additional to do. Right now I'm on the Child Death Review Board for our county and am a Medical Examiner Investigator. Both more EMS related, but I'd like to get some more education to be better at being a medic and to assist me in the other areas. I'd actually like to see what they have for forensic nursing someday... just to assist me in my MEI stuff. I LOVE being a medic and can only imagine pulling occasional ER shifts for a change of pace.

But no matter what I do I don't think I could stick to an online routine.

I'll have to check it out. Only problem is that almost everyone... ok everyone.. I've seen try to do the "online thing" has not been able to finish. Know anyone who's finished it by chance?

Until I graduate, I work in Dearborn, at Oakwood. We started our own Critical Care Transport Team in 2007 and I have been a part of it since its inception. Once I graduate, I will be in either Grand Rapids or Kalamazoo, I plan to fly.
