Peter may I still join this group if I'm retired due to injuries on the job back in 1992. I worked as an EMT on Long Island for over 20 years. When I first started in the business in 1968 all youu needed was advanced first aid. We had a old Caddy ambulance. I got my EMT Cert. in 1971, ( one of the first programs in NYS) I was doing 911 work under contract for the Suffolk County Police with a private service called "Stat Ambulance".
