Thanks so much for writing a GREAT article! It makes my job easy! Thanks too for permission to use it.

Jules, our 4-H club has the opportunity to put up educational displays at our county fair and I'm thinking I'd like to do one on the EMS ride. May I include your article that you sent us that link to? If so, can you send the link to me again, I can't seem to find it or even attach the file. I promise I'll give you full credit as the most competent writer!

Jules, it was great to see you again and also being able to give you a well deserved hug. I'm sorry that you hurt your ankle, but at least you stayed and took part in supporting the bike ride and the services. I'[m very proud of you for taking part even injured and still being involved. IWith my bad knee I was not able to ride but was able to help while in Delaware and again while in Roanoke. I was very humbled to been selected as family escort for Michelle's family and our state was well represented.

Hopefully now since you have seen our wonderful but small state you can see that we are a small wonder. Perhaps I may seen you sometime again in the near future the next time you & I are in each others areas. Please keep me in mind and in touch when possible as I'm looking forward to seeing you again. My e-mail address is: mike.mcmichael@medrium.com

Take care, Mike

Jules-I can't imagine riding through Times Square-when we were there I had trouble walking. I kept looking up up up. So much to see for this country girl! Good job on the ride. I just aired up my tires and am going for a ride-I need to start somewhere. You have inspired me to get up off my tush-pray I don't kill myself!! Take care Jules. Cheryl

I'm with you on the concerns about the Hills on the ride! I live in Southern Delaware now, and I can tell you that it is MUCH flatter in Southern Delaware than in Iowa. (I grew up in Estherville)

Oh Jules! I am bringing all my "legal" pain meds with me that have been sitting in my medicine chest for years. Who cares if they are past their exp dates-we will just double up!! lol =)

Jules, no apology needed, I'm just thankful that you and others are doing this tribute and that you can travel through our state as well. When you get in the area, give me a call, as I'm not sure what I'll be doing that day when you guys ride through on Monday 5/18. My guess is some sort of support role, perhaps staffing our ambulance following you and the rest.
They are also planning a ceremony with lunch provided around 1-2pm that day as well in Dover the state capitol, perhaps with the Governor who may ride as well. We are not sure yet, but their may be a large group joining you just from out state that day as well. The day before I'll be returning home from Harrisburg, PA on business and will be taking that Monday off. I'll place the patch and decal in an envelope address to you. I'll contact Jennifer and get her address as well and send her the same.
My toll free number when I'm in the office is 800-456-4629 ext # 128. I'm usually in during the mornings and at times I'm on the road traveling. My cell number is 302-383-6311, thanks again, Mike

Jules, Stephanie was a paramedic in Sussex County and Michelle was a registered First Responder who had registered to be in the EMT class to begin Jan 5th. She passed away on Dec 22 after being struck by a hit & run driver while caring for an injured patient and holdiing c-spine at the scene. The State of DE declared her to be a DE EMT-B posthumous just after the funeral on Monday 1/05/09 as well as all the EMS associations/offices, including the Governor. Both are going to be recognized nationally by the NEMSMS in Roanoke that weekend. I plan to be there on 5/22 & 5/23. I. It was hard on all of us in our small state and I may have taken it harder as she was a very good person and we were all close to her. I just hope I don't get to emotional when I'm there as I did enough crying. It was the saddest holiday season ever for us. Give me your address and I'll send both you and Jennifer our special patches &/or helmet decals that recognizes both. Thansk again, Mike
