- I spent 4 years as a volunteer for a local rescue squad and then became a paramedic, serving the past 20 years for our paid county service. I'm married to a retired NC State Highway Patrol trooper and we live on a farm with dogs, cats, horses, geese, chickens and honey bees! I retired from Onslow County EMS on September 1, 2010 and now I spend most of my time riding my bike. Life is GOOD!
