Ah, fun!!! Gotta love those pukers!!! Working in the ER tonight. So far, have had a 3 year old OD on his brother's prescription cough syrup, guy who was "beat up" by his doctor (so he says), gal with numbness in her left arm and leg, but was able to jump off the bed when the doc told he wouldn't give her anything for pain, and our usual frequent fliers with their migraines and it's not even a full moon.

Have fun tonight!!!

is it?

Care Free

The state of emergency medical services, or any medical service for that matter, is no care free business. But yet much of what we provide ends up being free. Hospitals
around the country lose tens of thousands of dollars a month, often
through the emergency department. EMS services routinely treat and
transport “non paying patients”, and the already huge cost of health
care rises because of it.

The Seven Dollar Dent

Today I was out and about town. This morning I took my car to the mechanic for some passed due maintenance (Thanks Chronicles of EMS)
Then this afternoon was off to the good doctor (and family friend) for
some passed due personal maintenance. Then off to the office supply
store, and a quick phone call to headquarters to enquirer about some
new uniforms. All and all, I’d say it was a productive day. Yup…… Continue

Partners

What is a partner? Is it just someone that happens to sit next to you when your on shift? Or is it something more?

I have worked with a lot of different people, but very few do I call “partner”. To me a partner is someone who at times is a “Part” of you. Who you are comfortable with, who in a strange way is familiar to
you. The kind of partner that gets your jokes, and who gets you.
Someone who you can talk to all day and
