Jennifer put out that some people have asked about wearing a uniform or class "A" to the EMS party in D.C. and that it is up to the individual.  I was wondering actually how many people are or want to wear theirs.  I guess I would rather go with the flow instead than be the only one oddly dressed.  Reply with your thoughts.

As far as Saturday night is concerned, I was figuring on wearing one of my class A's for the ceremony and go strictly comfortable for the party. Not knowing much about the actual timetable though, this is not set in stone. As part of the State Honor Guard, we commonly do ceremonial functions at dinner events. At the state conference, the party can get a bit raucous so after all the formal functions are done we usually retire to our rooms and dress down for the celebrating. I have never felt comfortable drinking in uniform.
Well said Carl. I was planning much of the same thing. Class A for the ceremonies and casual for afterwards. I don't think drinking in uniform is good for our image either.
There are 6 of us from Lake-Sumter EMS, and we were all planning on doing what Carl has said. We will be wearing our Class A for the ceremony and then changing for the party.
There's the old saying, "Great minds think alike!"
I am wearing mine.
class A
I am unable to afford a class A uniform but and going to wear a nice uniform instead.
That plan should work fine Isaac. Not everyone has one so just wear the best regular duty uniform you have. I am sure you and I can wrestle up an iron at the hotel in Alexandria.

Hi AJ
I'm bringing mine - even I wear it for just a brief time.
I dont have a uniform at all. I wear t-shirts and job shirts at work with ems pants. I was gonna wear a dresspants like i did to the memorial last year....is that ok? Or should I try to wrestle up a uniform.
What's up Steve, glad to hear you're coming.....hopefully this year I won't be killing myself to keep up with you.

You'll be fine, girl, don't worry about getting anything fancy.....just spending 15 minutes of our shin dig to remember them is an honor, but I believe dressing in a uniform, whether that be a daily duty uniform or a classs A, I think honors the profession that these guys were dedicated to and paid the ultimate sacrifice for.
