Hi, I am a Canadian paramedic and educator. I will be attending the NAEMSE symposium in Schaumburg in Sept 2010 and hope to do a rideout in either Chicago or Schumburg while I am there. If you can suggest a contact for me that would be great!

I received the information December 30th from an EMS Advisor/Consultant to the State of IL and he is also a EMS Educator and an EMT-P. It is my understanding this NEWS is just out to the EMS community and in his e-mail it states about 100 have been requested. So, pass the word around and visit the hot-link below.

Do we know how many plates are on order now

Thanks Ed. I had heard of it, and was e-mailed some minimal information.
Definitely will probably be trading in a set of FF plates for the EMS plate.

We are just starting to use the C-Pap...Just going through the training portion now. We have a great need for C-Pap in our area as most is an elderly community. Like anything medical you have a price to pay, but we feel that it is cost effective.

Illinois Region 6 is just instituting a CPAP protocol. I know other regions are already using pre-hospital CPAP. What are other services using and can you comment on the effectiveness, cost and ease of use? Also, are there any benefits to resource hospitals using the same equipment?

Decatur Ambulance Service is needing Paramedics and EMT-Is for prn positions. Pays $13.16 and 9.74/hour respectively. Call me at 217-362-5899 or e-mail at parrotmedic1@sbcglobal.net if interested. Do not use EMS United site, as it is not working well on my computer.

Be the best EMT-Basic you can be. If you can't be a good basic, chances are you are going to make a crappy medic.

Hello from Chicago. I am currently taking EMT classes, and would appreciate any advise anyone would care to give. Thanks!
