Hi

We have just joined EMS United today and looking to make Healthcare links on here.  We are healthcare staff based in the UK, we provide a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) online portfolio building service for healthcare workers.

Regards

Sam

Is there anyway we can cut down on the recent slew of e-mails coming in reguarding things not EMS related? I get enough Tiger Woods and facebook info on TV

Greg -

I just finished reading your Social Media article in EMS Magazine. You are spot-on! Here in California Twitter has become the norm. Most fire agencies use Twitter to communicate fires/emergencies/disasters here in the Bay Area. I foresee the social media concepts described in your article becoming far more commonplace in 2010.

I am wondering how often individuals use online continuing education.

Hello. This e-learning course sounds interesting. I am in school on Tuesdays and Thursdays and have some classes mid month, but this sounds interesting. What is involved and will this training count towards certification/CEUs? I have always been interested in pediatric medicine.

Check out www.wikiemt.com. It's a site I created about a year ago and have been slowly playing around with. There's not a lot there, but when I created it, I hoped it could some day serve as a repository everything EMS, from the operational to the clinical to the eduactional and everything else. While not an E-Learning system, the wikipedia platform can serve as a great archive of information.

I have no commercial motive here. It's free to sign up and use. What I need is a community of people who are passionate about creating an arcive of all things EMS.

Our EMS system has recently started using Decision Critical for E-Learning of new medications and protocols. While there are many advantages to E-Learning, I still prefer to have some "hands on" training, especially with regard to practicing skills that are used infrequently such as pertrach insertion, I/O placement, and chest decrompression. I do believe in the old adage of practice makes perfect.

iI have found that Rpid CE works best for me. I am from charleston south carolina and work for a county 911 system. our med controle thinks this is a great site and approves it with no problem.

I am wondering what websites people use for e-learning... There are quite a few. . Does one stand out, and why?
