Jennifer put out that some people have asked about wearing a uniform or class "A" to the EMS party in D.C. and that it is up to the individual.  I was wondering actually how many people are or want to wear theirs.  I guess I would rather go with the flow instead than be the only one oddly dressed.  Reply with your thoughts.

I'm not going to be there, but my EMS agency does not have class A uniforms so for the awards dinner I was at the other night, I adopted what we did with the FD and wore a long sleeve uniform shirt, black dress slacks, black tie and silver tie bar. Just an idea for those who can't afford Class As
I think AJ hit it right. The most important thing is to remember who we are honoring. They were in their duty uniforms when they left us, our duty uniforms will honor them.
Honor Guard Uniform then dress down later.
I'm bringing a class A and change out to a dress. Amy if you wear a nice suit it would work. There is no need to have added expence for a class A. Jen do you need me to bring hair clips? :)

What's up Steve, glad to hear you're coming.....hopefully this year I won't be killing myself to keep up with you.

Hi AJ
I'm bringing mine - even I wear it for just a brief time.
Hi AJ
I'm psyched about coming out in the next few days.. Not much opportunity to train in the real world of Colroado with all this snow. It has been a damn cold winter. I may be working on trying to keep up with you this year.

I will be wearing my class A.  It may be a little wrinkled after flying and all those miles in a penske truck.  Jenn? do you do ironing?  J/K

Jim, NO

Aimee - YES

Little Amy - whatever you did last year was perfect.

Carl - Timetable is ceremony about 5-6:30/7ish, Food following (plenty of downtime here to change clothes), Band I think is starting around 8-9, after folks have had time to settle their food and they are set up.

John Simpson - I love this line: They were in their duty uniforms when they left us, our duty uniforms will honor them.  Thanks!

Everyone else - YOU ALL ARE TERRIFIC!!  Having you with us is an honor in itself!

Jen

When I retired on September 1, 2010, I had to turn in every piece of any uniform ever issued to me, except for my steel-toed boots. I was planning on wearing some nice dress slacks and a pretty top, but somehow, I think I'll leave the old boots at home! LOL See you all real soon!

Time line: APPROXIMATELY:

Ceremony--Arrival and setting-17:00-17:15

                 Ceremony 17:15-17:45--Memorial/remembrance portion, 17:45-18:30-Awards/ride celebration

                 Dinner---18:45-20:00

                 Dance--20:00-Midnight

I do not have a Class A Judi, I'll be wearing a dress
I don't work for a service yet, so I will be wearing nice clothes, just like I did last year. I think that whatever you decide will be perfect.
