What have you done for your health today?

What have you done for your Diet today?

How long did you exercise today? This week?

Sound out medics, let's hear how well we all did on our goals this week, or not!

I have a few lectures coming up and some non-scientific info would be a big help.

Biked to and from work in sub-20 degree temperatures.
All in public safety please. I would really like to know peoples habits regarding health and wellness.

Ran 1.5 miles on tread mill, worked out on bow-flex for 45 minutes.
Hi,
I tend to concentrate on diet more than a specific exercise pattern. My favorite, somewhat atypical, additive to my increasingly organic diet is acai berry products. I first heard about acai and its benefits from a Dr. Perricone on the Oprah show several years ago. My favorite brand of acai products is Sambazon.

As the skin is the body's largest organ, I am using more organic based skin products, as well. Acai tastes amazing and gives me lots more energy. The organic skin products give me a mental boost as well as the other intended benefits. I also try to laugh alot with the thought that laughter is the best medicine.

Any suggestions for lower body exercises that can be done in a uniform, in the confines of an ambulance and in the presence of a co-ed crew?
Lyn, what you are doing is awesome. Natural is definitely better, just be cautious of the heal all foods/fruits. Try to blend a mixture of greens and fruits to give your body a more potent anti-oxidant boost.
There are a ton of great exercises you can do in uniform for both lower and upper body. Not to shamelessly self promote but.....the Fit Responder book and Blog are just that, a program you can do while on duty (among a lot of other fitness and wellness tips).

Hi Bryan,
I'll definitely check out your site. Funny you should talk about greens...this month I've started trying out a couple of different "greenie" powders that you mix with water or juice. They're a bit of a challenge to swallow but I'm going to stick with it for a few weeks to see what results happen. Anybody have a favorite greens powder that I should try?

FYI, acai (Brazilian palmberry) is the highest antioxidant fruit on the planet. The Sambazon website has a specific avoiding "heals all" type of scams. I also work to include the 14 anticancer foods into my diet as much as possible. Not that I'm a saint...beef and beer remain in my diet plus the once and while trips to the golden arches.

I read that if you what to go organic, just changing to organic milk makes a huge difference. Any comments?

I recently got a body mass index scale and have a goal of increasing my muscle percentage. On the job, I get enough upper body exercise but to reach my '09 goals, I'd like to work on the other parts.
