Many states have stroke care models that involve EMS in four primary components:
- EMS Public Education of FAST stroke recognition.
- EMS Recognition of Stroke signs and symptoms.
- EMS Identification of Stroke Alert.
- EMS Transport of Stroke Alert to designated Stroke Center.
