Does anyone know of a college that does a Bachelors in EMS? In FL we have none. I am going to have to go online.

Western Carolina University has the oldest BS in EMS in the country. It is offered both on-line AND in person. It is a real substantial program and several of my senior officers have graduated from it, and maybe eight of my current employees are enrolled. I highly recommend it.

They also have an MS program if you are really motivated.
Siena Heights University in Michigan has a bachelors of applied Science as a Paramedic or Public Safety Studies and i am sure they can work with you online as some of my classes were .. UMBC has a Bachelors as well as Masters and George Washington University has a Masters Program.

Hope that helps
I got mine at Western Carolina University. I know they have an online program for it too. Talk to Dr. Mike Hubble: mhubble@email.wcu.edu

(sorry, didn't see all the replies, still trying to figure out this program ;) )
Hey Cricket,

It's George Trotter-I'm one of your P3 students. I know in Florida that both the University of Miami and St. John's University offer an EMS bachelor's degree. There are plenty of schools that offer it online. I know you're not interested in the fire side but the University of Florida offers an online bachelor's degree in Fire and EMS-that's what I plan on doing. But like you said, UCF offers the Applied Science degree with a Health Services Administration track, as do many other schools. I don't know if this helped but good luck with whatever you pick.

Thanx George! I recognized your name immediately, thank you! I have already applied to UCF, I start January for the B.S. in Health Services Administration. I guess I only need 11 classes considering I already have 198 credits from going to school forever. Luckily for me, these classes are all on-line, allowing me to work full time still and go to school. I could get it done in one year, but I am going to just take my time with it. Thanx for responding!! See you in school.
Texas Tech......located in Lubbock, Tx (Panhandle area) has some medic bachelor program. U might also want to try Texas A&M the TEEX section.

Wesley, I am already a Medic with an AS in EMS and an AA General. I need to move on and get the Bachelors in EMS. However, so many online schools have a bad name and the Bachelor is just a paper. I would like one that is reputable. Will, I willlook into George Washington, do you know if it is reputable?

Thanx guys for helping me out.

University of Maryland Baltimore County; George Washington, and Drexel University all have well known and respected EMS degrees, including both BS and MS degrees.
I obtained my Bachelor of Applied Science in Public Safety Administration, with a Sub-plan concentration in Fire Science and Emergency Management at St. Petersburg College, St. Petersburg, FL. Great program and you can obtain your BS in EMS there, too! Each class is approximately $300 for Florida residents and it is all on-line. Can't say enough positives about it.
Isn't that where Barbara Larson taught?
